How The Studio Runs

Prototype fast, ship living systems, teach the methods behind them — direction, technology and emotion move as one continuous gesture.
WE DESIGN BRAND LANGUAGES,
DIGITAL EXPERIENCES AND
GENERATIVE VISUALS THAT
CONNECT ART WITH DATA,
HUMAN TOUCH WITH ALGORITHMIC FLOW.
WE COMBINE ARTISTIC INTUITION WITH TECHNOLOGICAL PRECISION TO CREATE VISUAL SYSTEMS THAT DON'T JUST LOOK ADVANCED, THEY BELONG TO THE FUTURE.
Drag them, they fight back.
We believe every project has a story to tell — and a system worth building.
We design brand languages and living digital experiences where direction meets code. Every South Hustles project starts as a system: a set of rules, motions and visuals that can grow with the culture it speaks to.
Art with data. Human touch with algorithmic flow. We treat the studio as a laboratory — testing, breaking and refining until the work belongs to the future.
Direction, technology and emotion are not three departments — they are one continuous gesture. We prototype fast, ship living systems, and teach the methods behind them.
Based in Argentina and Mexico, working worldwide, building creative systems for a conscious era.
South Hustles is a creative studio for a conscious era. We merge direction, technology and emotion into systems that keep producing culture after we ship them — born between the sierra and the sea, built for everywhere.
Brands are living systems, not artifacts. If it can't evolve without us, we haven't finished the job. Every identity we build carries its own rules for breaking its rules.
Direction first, pixels last. Async by default, present when it matters. One system per problem, documented so hard it teaches itself. Additive only — we never tear down what works.
Everyone who asks. The University shares the methods behind the agency and the system — because students break our tools in ways that improve them, and the best ones never really leave.
First hustle — a borrowed laptop, a music video, a name that stuck.
The studio forms: direction + code under one roof for the first time.
Global reach — first worldwide clients, first system that outlived its campaign.
CUSA System is born: our TouchDesigner practice becomes shippable instruments.
Tandil, Córdoba, La Saladita, Tulum → worldwide. Agency, system and university running as one ecosystem.
Every drop is a system in miniature — reactive rigs, brand loops and generative posters, shipped to the feed before they scale to clients.

an identity that listens
« Forty years of programmes, four thousand concerts, one question: what does a season look like? »
THE HALL WANTED ITS music TO BE SEEN BEFORE IT WAS HEARD.
Their archive held every programme since 1982 — composers, keys, durations, applause lengths. Data nobody had ever looked at twice. Our brief: turn that archive into the visual identity of the coming season.
A TOUCHDESIGNER NETWORK THAT composes LIKE THE ORCHESTRA.
Audio analysis drives geometry: key signatures choose palettes, tempo bends the grid, applause length decides how long a frame survives. 40,000 generated frames — curated by hand, red marker on printouts, taste over stamina.
EVERY NIGHT'S POSTER IS played, NOT DESIGNED.
The season launched with posters, tickets and façade projections all rendered from the same system — each night unique, all nights unmistakably one voice. The identity now belongs to the hall's own team: they play it, we tuned it.
WE MERGE DIRECTION, TECHNOLOGY AND EMOTION TO BUILD EXPERIENCES THAT LIVE IN DIGITAL SPACE.
Six thousand particles hold formation until you move. The system bends around your cursor — then settles back into place. Interfaces should behave the same way.
Where we teach the methods behind the agency and system. Expert-led courses, engaging workshops and inspiring resources.

Open a note. Highlight what resonates with the mouse. Arm a tool and paint over the page — marker, fineliner, spray or eraser. Everything you mark feeds the DNA strip below.
A campaign ends. A system keeps producing. When we take a brand in, we don't ask "what should this look like" — we ask "what machine, once built, will keep generating this brand's language without us in the room?"
That machine has parts: a typographic voice with rules for when it breaks its own rules. A palette that behaves — that reacts to inputs instead of sitting in a PDF. Motion primitives. And a governance layer: who may bend what, and how far.
The deliverable is the system. The campaign is just its first output. Everything we ship at South Hustles is built to keep hustling after we leave.
Most people meet TouchDesigner as a VJ tool. We treat it as a drawing hand — a way for data to hold the pencil. A network of operators is a nervous system: audio in, geometry out, feedback loops in between deciding what survives each frame.
Our pipelines start on paper. Then the paper becomes CHOPs and TOPs, and the sketch starts breathing. The plug-ins we ship through CUSA System are these sketches, hardened: instruments other studios can play without reading our minds.
Rule of the room: if a patch can't surprise you, it isn't finished.
A logo is a signature. A brand is a ritual — the thing an audience does with you, repeatedly, until it becomes theirs. We design the rituals first: the drop, the reveal, the loop, the inside joke that only the community gets.
Every South Hustles identity ships with its rituals documented: what happens every Monday, what happens at every launch, what never happens. Consistency isn't sameness — it's a rhythm people can dance to.
Then, yes, we draw the logo. It's the easiest part, once you know the dance.
Generative art fails when the algorithm leads and the human follows. It works when it's a duet: the system proposes, the hand disposes. We curate seeds, prune outputs, and — crucially — allow ourselves to paint over the result.
Data Symphony taught us this: 40,000 generated frames, and the final cut came from Marcel physically circling printouts with a red marker. The algorithm is a collaborator with infinite stamina and zero taste. Taste is our job.
Human touch with algorithmic flow. In that order.
Every studio has a vault. We decided to teach from ours. Visualizing Wisdom exists because the methods behind the agency and the system are more valuable shared than hoarded — students break our tools in ways that improve them.
The courses are workshops, not lectures: you leave with a running patch, a working identity system, a deployed page. Expert-led, but the expert is beside you, not on a stage.
Teaching is also how we hire. The best students never really leave.
Tandil and Córdoba give us the sierra — the slow patience of a landscape that doesn't rush. La Saladita and Tulum give us the sea — timing you learn from a swell, not a calendar. The worldwide part gives us everything else: collaborators in three time zones, launches that follow the sun, references that never come from the same shelf twice.
The studio runs async by default: briefs are documents, reviews are annotated screens, decisions are written down. Presence is for the work that deserves it — workshops, shoots, the first hour of every new system.
Four home bases on the invoice. Everywhere on the work.
Nothing marked yet. Open a note and highlight a phrase, or paint over a page.
We set the narrative before a single pixel moves — tone, pacing, the arc a brand follows across every touchpoint.
Real-time visual programming for installations, live sets and generative brand assets — nodes instead of timelines.
Hand-built front-ends, no bloated framework where it isn't earning its keep — fast, accessible, built to last.
Shaders, particle systems and procedural motion — code as a design material, not just plumbing.
Identity systems that flex — a mark, a voice and a set of rules a team can actually run with.
Campaigns built to move — media planning and motion design that earns attention instead of interrupting it.
